Great Dinner Conversation

Tonight at dinner there was lots to talk about. Lauren started in her new class today and was very excited. She liked the class and the teacher. She was even excited about the color of folder they gave her for her communication book. Brandon was excited about some work at school about boats. The communication book mentioned him drawing a pictures about a boat being blown across water. He even put the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 across the top. We discussed the possibility of getting a model. He had lots of fun with the last two car models and this might be a great hobby for him and Dad. At one point Lauren mentioned that one of the boys at school had called her a name at lunch time. Brandon piped up and had a suggestion for her. He said to tell them "Mother of Pearl, Fire on the Poop Deck". This is one of his favorite saying from Sponge Bob. He then explained that it would make the boy laugh and leave her alone. It was great to see them both so happy and talkative.

Thank you for commenting on my blog. I get a lot of looks sometimes that I don't know where they are comming from and its nice to know where (or who).
Anyway I read through yours tonight. I noticed a lot of similarities with your kids to how mine are or in Izzaks case was at the same age. He was actually a lot like your Brandon in many ways. Oh so many ways......
I did want to comment on the problem you are having with getting Lauren tested specifically for the dyslexia. Don't let them tell you she is to young to test. Its simply not true! Our Neurodevelopmental specialist told us that when Izzak saw her in the fourth grade that the school could have cought it way early. Especially with the fact he spent years in Early Interventions before starting school. Also he used to do the hiding under his desk and crying also. I fight with the schools constantly for him especially but also for my girls for various reasons it is very tiring :(
I don't know if you have read any more of my blog but we also have problems with all four of our children both learning and health. So far just one Joshua with ADHD.
Anyway feel free to come by again I do talk about it on occasion but have been trying to not focus so much lately on the learning as the health has been a bigger issue lately. There are several other posts from last year about Izzaks learning problems and I don't think I even touch on all of them.
